I'm all for learning to CAD my own models, but some shortcuts are too convenient to ignore. Tooltrace.ai lets you quickly configure Gridfinity or foam shadow boxes to fit your tools with just a photo on A4 paper. So quick. So convenient.

Not everyone knows CAD or has the time to design dozens of custom Gridfinity boxes. When I found Tooltrace at OpenSauce, I knew it was the perfect tool to satisfy your OCD — or at least mine. Nobody has an excuse anymore to not use Gridfinity.

This looks great. You put your tools on an 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of paper, upload a photo, then generate a Gridfinity bin. So simple!

Tool Trace AI is so revolutionary. All you need is a piece of paper, your cell phone, and a 3D printer to create incredible custom bins for anything in a matter of seconds.

Tooltrace isn't just useful, it's delightful. It streamlines workflow while making toolkit organization feel like a creative pause, not another chore. Highly recommend.
Dang, that's amazing! The dual-color print adds such a nice contrast.

This process is so much easier and faster than traditional methods, so it is a no-brainer. You can bet I'll be printing some for my own shop very soon.

I had this idea in my head — photo, contours, then OpenSCAD — but never built it. Glad someone did!
I was just about to start organizing my drawers. Perfect timing!
Using a flat-bed scanner instead of a camera can make a huge difference.
